A new site, for a new College in Halifax and an opportunity for you to study courses that will prepare you for a job and a future career in the area you’re interested in. Here at The Maltings College we specialise in teaching courses that prepare and up-skill 16-19 year olds for the workplace.
It’s not just our courses – it’s the way we teach them
So why is The Maltings College different? We work with innovative, national and local businesses to plan and deliver our courses – and ensure all learners have a rich, sector-specific work experience programme. The opportunities you are given to gain knowledge and skills will put you way ahead of other candidates when you go on to apply for a job or apprenticeship.
Learning for work
All learners are ‘Student Employees’ and, from day 1, focus on becoming an employee of the future. Part of this includes a commitment to work experience – or a longer work placement programme – depending on your course. We offer work experience to everyone, provide regular contact with top employers, delivery a Work Skills development programme over the year - all to give you opportunities to get to know exactly what a job in your chosen sector involves.
Our courses are designed and delivered with real employers.
All our courses are designed with business and industry experts. We work with local and national businesses to ensure the skills and knowledge we teach match the skills and knowledge they want their future employees to have.
Our specialised Work Skills programme prepares you well for moving on to employment. You will develop your confidence, personal skills, CV writing, job application technique and interview skills ready for that important job or apprenticeship application. Our links with employers across the North of England will ensure you have the best possible opportunities to meet with, and learn from, the best in the business.
Apprenticeships at The Maltings College
If you are seeking an apprenticeship, we can provide you with training in a wide range of sectors to prepare you before applying. If we don’t offer the training you require on site, then we will point you in the direction of one of our partner providers to ensure you get the help you need to progress into employment.
We specialise in providing apprenticeships for education. We train 16-19 year olds working in early years, primary schools and secondary schools to ensure they gain the knowledge and skills to do their job – whilst at the same time reinforcing how their role influences the learning and life chances of young children and school pupils.
