Senior Leadership Team

In addition to the lecturing team, The Maltings College have a staffing structure in place. These members are responsible for the day-to-day running of the college and ensuring that it is lead in a way that enables it to make a difference to students. Here we meet some of the core members of our team.

Michael Gosling, CEO

clarke-nickiNicki Clarke, Principal

Nicki Clarke is the Principal at The Maltings College. Nicki joined Trinity Academy as a Curriculum Leader of Health Sciences and later progressed to the Senior Leadership team as Assistant Principal for Student Progress. During her time as a Senior Leader, Nicki played a central role in supporting a local secondary school, taking it out of special measures and supporting the successful transition of students from the closing school to their new provision.

David Sheard, Chief Financial Officer

David Sheard is the CFO for the Trinity Multi-Academy Trust. He was previously the Finance Director for Trinity Academy Halifax and acted as Finance Director for The Maltings College before becoming the CFO of the Trust. His role is to strategically lead from a financial perspective, including income review and the cost effective use of the resources available. David’s role includes ensuring that the college maintains a stable financial platform with the possibility of growth and improvement both now and in the future.

Carol Brown, College Administrator

Carol joined The Maltings College in October 2013 having previously served as School Business Manager and Clerk to the Governing Body at various educational establishments. Carol ensures that systems are in place to support both students and staff on a day to day basis, including student enrolment and providing access to pastoral and financial support. She encourages staff and students in working towards the high expectations set by the college.

Ellie Palka

Ellie is a member of the Senior Leadership Team. Her main roles include; managing the quality assurance for the college which links to the bespoke CPD schedule; running the Student Council, and developing the college Tutorial Programme. In addition to this, Ellie is the college’s single point of contact for PREVENT (SPOC), and she is also responsible for promoting British Values across the college. Ellie leads the hair and beauty sector and teaches a Level 2 and Level 3 hairdressing group.
