Course lecturers: Our lecturers are advanced motor vehicle engineers from a range of industry backgrounds. These include: vehicle service technicians, advanced diagnosis specialists, auto electricians, RAC patrols and Ferrari engineers. All actively maintain their own skills, working with high profile companies. This means that they can support your pathway into employment within the motor industry.

Our facilities: This is a practical course, with some elements of theory, and is taught within our fully- equipped working garage. The garage is stocked with Snap-On tools.

Kit required: All students will require our garage uniform including overalls. Prices will be advised by your lecturer.

Upon successful completion of this course, students could progress to a role as a light vehicle service technician or secure an apprenticeship in the industry.

Lewis Jay, Light Vehicle Maintenance Level 2 lecturer

Lewis is a Light Vehicle Maintenance lecturer, and is passionate about vehicles and education. Lewis has enjoyed a long-standing career as a mechanic, originally becoming qualified whilst in the HM Forces, before working in a range of garages upon leaving. He has also run his own business as a mobile mechanic, before gaining his qualifications to teach. Lewis was inspired to teach after seeing those training in his workplace flourish. Lewis ensures he remains ‘hands on’ with his own practical skills and knowledge, including undertaking recent training by Vauxhall. This enables the sharing of the latest developments in the industry with students.
