As a college,  we work to help our young people to ‘get in’ to the workplace. This means that we consider that the advice, information and careers support that we offer as crucial as ensuring that students achieve their qualifications.

A core part of our careers support focuses upon helping students to become ‘work ready’, and ensuring that they have the skills, knowledge and attributes employers are seeking. This means our careers service has a unique blend of advice and support. Guest speakers and workshops cover standard careers support such as CV writing and interview skills, students also explore aspects such as the importance of punctuality, personal presentation and customer service skills.

Work placements are a mandatory element of all of our courses, and these play a key part in offering our young people the opportunity to experience theory in action. A number of courses also offer the opportunity to access higher education, and those students who wish to pursue a university course as their next step are supported to do so.

Our highly qualified lecturers provide a core part of our careers guidance and support, and we work closely with C&K Careers and have an in-house Adviser who is available for appointments.

Existing students receive regular careers guidance, and information and will receive direct information regarding these. Prospective students or parents are welcome to contact the college should they wish to know more about this support. The pages within this section also offer a range of useful advice, including links to additional sources of help and information about how to contact our in-house C&K Careers Adviser.
